MEET THE TEAM

LAURA CLARK

President & Founder

Laura is a certified Climate Reality Leader and holds a diplomatic pass to the United Nations in Geneva, Switzerland. She has organized service and educational missions to Nicaragua, the Philippines, Puerto Rico, as well as multiple statewide projects. She earned a Bachelor of Arts in Communication from William Jewell College. Laura lives with her husband and two children in Washington, D.C.

BRITTANY ANN PAYNE

Secretary

Born and raised in California and currently a resident of Hawaii, Brittany is a passionate activist for environmentalism. Her service work has taken her to Austria, Colombia, Sri Lanka, the Philip and Puerto Rico. 

ARIEL SORENSEN

Treasurer

Ariel is originally from Southern California, was raised in Arizona and now resides in Washington, D.C. where she has recently worked as a Healthcare Administrator. She gives her time frequently to charitable purposes including military appreciation, allergy awareness, and environmentalism.

ANNIKA ADAMS

Board of Directors

Annika is a humanitarian and project manager from Memphis, Tennessee. She completed a Bachelor of Professional Studies with The University of Memphis, as well as two masters with Embry-Riddle Aeronautical University in Management and Project Management.  

AMANDA SOWARDS

Board of Directors

Named 2018 Humanitarian of the Year at The Global Beauty Awards, Amanda is the Vice President of World Missions Outreach, a not for profit school and feeding program operating in Nicaragua. She attended Catawba College and earned a B.A in Communications, then earned an International Broadcast Journalism degree at the Carolina School of Broadcasting. Amanda believes that love and humanity know no borders.

KHIA MOON SMITH

Board of Directors

Based in Virginia Beach, Khia has served on the Executive Council of the Urban League of Hampton Roads Young Professionals and was recognized as a Distinguished Young Professional. In 2015, she launched K. Cimóne, an online earth-friendly accessory boutique for men and women, as well as a boutique styling and production conglomerate. In her free time, Khia volunteers as an EMT with the City of Virginia Beach Rescue Squad. She is a wife, mother of two children and one fur-child.

JENNA MCKINNEY

Board of Directors

Raised in Texas, Jenna currently resides in Oklahoma as a proud military wife. She is passionate advocate for women's empowerment and environmental service.

MERRICK ALEXANDER

Board of Directors

A resident of Nebraska, Merrick studied Classical Scholarship, Psychology & History at the University of Nebraska. 

ELLE WHITE

Board of Directors

LaShawn "Elle" White holds extensive experience in event coordination, hospitality, entertainment and media. She currently resides in the Washington, DC area.
